Happy Birthday, Benjamin!

Uncategorized

Today is our sweet Benjamin Joseph’s birthday.  He would be 27.  How I miss him!

This picture was taken after he learned to walk again.  A few steps at a time.  Look at that smile!

Months before he had had major spinal surgery that left him unable to walk; it caused his little spine to become severely crooked and his hip twisted.  He crawled every where.  I still have his sweet little cowboy boots that he had asked for a few months before his back surgery and the toes are worn down some because of having to crawl…but that is a whole story all in itself.

A couple of weeks ago, during a long, long trip, I actually started writing out Benjamin’s story.  I wrote for about a solid hour.  I had never tried to write it out before, and I was surprised how clear a lot of the memories were once I started digging them up again.

Right from the beginning we were in awe at how God worked and intervened…in so many ways.  There is just so much that we saw the Lord do during Ben’s battle with cancer, that during the difficulties of that dark road, we couldn’t help but see God’s soft touch in the whole journey.

And Gracie makes 6!  Named after the great grace of God!!

Benjamin has been with the Lord for over 21 years now.  What a blessing to know he is with the Lord.  Safe in the arms of Jesus.  And more blessed to think about is that he will rise up from that grave when that trumpet sounds and we will meet him..and the LORD!!…in the air!!

Even so come, Lord Jesus!  My blessed Hope!  Is He yours?!

Hugs, Mitzi

Happy Birthday, Benjamin…I love you.

When we got the call that day, Daddy was in the hospital for heart surgery. I remember he tried to leave; he got up & dressed, & said, “Forget the surgery! We’ve got to get to Joe & Mitzi!” But, they wouldn’t let him leave.
I’m sure he and Ben are together, worshipping our Saviour, just waiting for us to come!
